Pudsey Local Government Election 1872 |
Local Government Board Election
The Local Government Act 1858 was adopted for the Township of
Pudsey on the 2nd day of December, 1871. It was resolved at a meeting
held on the 24th of April, 1872, that the board should consist of 15
members; and the voting papers containing the names of 105 ratepayers,
who had been proposed as fit and proper persons for members of the Board
(24 of these refused to stand) were distributed on the 27th of May and
collected on the 31st. The following is the result of the voting, the
first 15 being elected:
