So you have found the record you are looking for, but you have no idea where the the address is?
Modern maps will still have the main roads on them, but most of the smaller streets and yards have disappeared and names have changed.
To help, we have compiled a table of all toponyms, roads, streets, buildings and houses, that appear on the 1906 Ordnance Survey maps for our areas of interest.
Find the placename in the table and click on the map to see the area in which your place name can be found.

The 1906 map version is the best for our purpose as it has many new streets and buildings that were being constructed at the beginning of the century, but still has the older buildings, as this was well before any large scale slum clearance.

Some places are not named on the map. For instance, Musgrave's Yard in Bramley had many families living there in 1841 but it isn't labelled or had been developed by the time of the 1906 map. Only by a camparison to other nearby places can we position it, in this case, somewhere behind the Globe Inn on Broad Lane (which is still there but no longer a pub.)

We plan to add missing areas shortly, these being mainly Idle and the most Eastern parts of Armley and Wortley.
