Subject: Sudden Death
It is with regret that we have to record the death of Mr. Joseph
L. Blackburn, tailor, of Chapeltown, Pudsey. During the past six months
he has held a situation as superintendent of finished works at the works
of Alderman Barran, Leeds, and attended to his duties until Saturday
last, and on Sunday he attended three services at the Congregational
Church. Fpr some time his friends have noticed that he seemed to be
growing feebler. It was thought that the work was too close and confining,
and he was urged to return to his own employment at home. On Monday
hemorrhage of the lungs commenced...combined with an attack of bronchitis
he expired yesterday morning, aged 49 years...His remains will be interred
at the Congregational Church on Saturday.
