The Methodist movement in Nidderdale was very well supported. This small valley supported over thirty Wesleyan Methodist and Primitive Methodist chapels and churches in the latter half of the 19th century.
The records we have are two groups of births and baptisms. One purely for Pately Bridge, the later included the chapels at Glasshouses and at Summerbridge. These records leave gaps.
