The parish church for Stanningley is St Thomas,
which is situated in the part of Stanningley that comes under Bramley
district. The church was built in 1840 and consecrated in March 1841.
Few marriages were conducted at the church. For the period up to 1890,
there were only 99 at St Thomas, starting in 1863. In later years the
church became more popular.
